ICONIC SUMMER HOUSE

Situated steps from downtown, this project achieves a sense of peace and privacy. Clients who live on the West Coast most of the year wanted simplicity with a touch of New England charm. Walking the line between formality and approachability, the contrast between black and white is a theme throughout the home. The mix of soft pastels, block prints, and natural motifs makes for an artful and elevated retreat. A custom mural painted onsite by one of our team members celebrates family memories and summer nostalgia.

  • In addition to Interior Design, we offered Interior Architecture services: specifying stone, tile, paint, wallpaper, lighting, and sourced and procured all furnishings, window treatments, and accessories.

  • One of our talented designers, Keely Menezes, designed & hand painted the artisanal tile in the kitchen (pictured above).

THIS FAMILY LOVES THOSE ICONIC EDGARTOWN SUMMER MOMENTS

We picture their kids hopping on bikes and riding through the village with tennis racquets in tow — yet they were non-conventional in their design approach to the house. And we are so here for it!

The tone was set early on when they selected cedar shingles, light blue painted trim and a black painted door for their bungalow instead of the typical white and "Edgartown green" color scheme.

MEANINGFUL DETAILS

The collaborative selection of art and prints was a highlight of the project, particularly the Sheila Bridges "Harlem Toile" on the mudroom bench.

We loved that our clients were interested in incorporating local, emerging, female + POC artists, and it makes the house come alive with thoughtfulness and joy.

A LITTLE WEST COAST FLAVOR IN THE NORTHEAST

The interior color palette consists of sage, brass, and white with black and peach accents. Every room has a warmth, glow and softness that is fitting for the owners who call California home most of the year.
